Saying Goodbye to Summer – September 21, 2013

Enjoying dinner theater in Ashland. Gershwin Cabaret.IMG_2360

Summer ends this weekend. I celebrated yesterday with a 1/4 mile swim. I may get another swim next week before we close the pool for the fall. We enjoyed working around the house and traveling. Last week we went to Ashland and enjoyed a play at The Old Globe. Another night we went to the Cabaret Dinner Theater. Don and Ann joined us. We were very close to the stage. We stayed again at “Hanna’s House” which is a VRBO (Vacation Rental By Owner”. Our niece, Carrie, shared about VRBO. Much nice than a hotel because there is privacy, more room, ability to fix meals, and quieter than a hotel or B and B. Our traveling is over until the early spring.

I enjoy the rhythms of life that are reflected in the seasons. We approach fall and shift from outside to inside activities. The yard and pool need to be closed. The fireplace is lit and the sweaters replace tee shirts in the closet. The long days of summer will be replaced by the brilliant starry nights of winter and reflective moonlight of snows.
