The Joy of Learning the Piano

I never had a chance growing up to learn a musical instrument.  Both of my daughters took piano lessons for at least 3 years.  Beth switched to violin in 5th grade.  Jenni is quite accomplished after 10 years of lessons.  I hope in the future she will have a piano in her home to continue to play.

I started this fall as a beginner.  Music reading was from 8th grade music class which was very basic.   Currently I can read and play flats, sharps, and chords.  I am working hard on Moonlight Sonata and Fur Elise.   My goal is to master the two pieces by the time both girls are home for the summer.  It is very satisfying to play the first 4 measures of Moonlight with the pedal–can’t wait for the entire piece.
